Our unrefined shea butter is a creamy Fair Trade raw shea butter that is hand crafted by traditional methods.  This unrefined butter is not processed by any other chemical extraction methods. It is not bleached and there are no coloring ingredients or other additives (natural or artificial) in this butter. 

This smooth firm butter comes from the Tamale region of Ghana.  Raw unrefined shea butter ranges in color from off white to dark beige.  The soil of this area grows karite (shea) trees that produce a naturally lighter colored shea butter which is pale beige to off white and is called Ivory Shea Butter.  This raw butter has a creamy texture and mild nutty scent that disappears soon after application.
